Thailand: Political Unrest Worst in 16 Years
By Larry Habegger | Permalink |Bangkok’s worst street violence in 16 years erupted Oct. 7 when riot police fired teargas canisters and stun grenades into crowds of anti-government protesters. Two people were killed and more than 400 were injured. The protests have been ongoing for four months, and the current escalation of violence has hurt the business climate and may further erode tourism.
