Canada: No End in Sight to Ottawa Transit Strike

Ottawa’s transit strike continued into its sixth week with no end in sight when a federal mediator failed to get the two sides back into negotiations Jan. 13. The strike has shut down the city’s bus system and left residents to fend for themselves. Some who have returned to their cars for commuting vowed not to return to buses once the strike is settled.
