Papua New Guinea: Anti-Asian Sentiment Increasing

Anti-Asian sentiment among Papua New Guineans is rising, with a week of violence and looting targeting primarily Chinese-owned shops. Incidents occurred in Lae, Gerehu, Erima, Gordons, Six Mile and Koki. Foreign nationals of non-Asian descent have not been targeted, and tensions remain high.
