Norway: Petty Crime Rises with the Summer Sun

Summertime is peak season for both tourism and street crime, with pickpockets and purse-snatchers working airports, train stations and hotels, especially in lobbies and restaurants. Often they work in pairs and use distraction as a way to steal handbags. The U.S. State Department reports that passports are seldom the goal of such thefts. Crooks are after money, credit cards and jewelry.
