Nepal: Travel Alert for Festival Season

Dashain runs Sept. 19-Oct. 2 and Tihar Oct. 15-19. The Embassy recommended many common-sense precautions such as minimizing moving around late at night, avoiding walking alone after dark, using a private driver if possible or noting the registration number and details of a taxi driver’s ID, and avoiding food or drinks offered by strangers because they could be drugged.
