Ireland: Big Chill, Snowfall Add to Irish Woes

As if the financial crisis that caused the EU to press for a bailout to save the country’s banking system wasn’t enough stress for the Irish, Ireland has been in the throes of a deep freeze and snowfall that has made life miserable for all. Travel throughout the country has been hazardous and the weather has kept many people shut in at home. The snow and chill was forecast to hang around until about Dec. 7, when a more typical rainy pattern and warming temperatures will help the country thaw out.
