Sri Lanka: Navy Begins Whale-Watching Tourist Excursions

By Larry Habegger | Permalink | 2 comments | February 2nd, 2011 | Trackback

The Sri Lankan Navy is getting into the tourism business in an effort to improve the country’s image after three decades of civil war and to offer tourists a new attraction otherwise unavailable here. It has established a ferry service for whale watching excursions out of the popular tourist port of Galle in the south. Tickets aboard the luxury ferry cost $100 for a five-hour journey and whales can be seen in the area through April. This region was largely unaffected by the long-running civil war.

This is very good for Watching Whales by the Navy Boats. But there is small trouble why The Boart or Crouise make big noise that not good idea for whales.. be careful with this and find the small boat for watching whales.

Better follow the www.whaleslanka.com for watching whales because they use small boat sound proof systems.

The Kalpitiyan coast is home to something special – hundreds of dolphins. Wake with the rising sun and head out to sea to wonder at these intelligent, sociable creatures. Best time to see them is when the sea is calm from November to April.
