Cuba: New Airports Designated as Ports of Entry to Cuba
By Larry Habegger and Andrew Davis | Permalink |Nine airports are now designated as ports of entry for approved travelers wishing to go to Cuba for “purposeful” travel. This includes educational and religious purposes as well as medical or agricultural business. Joining the ranks of Los Angeles, Miami and New York are the airports of Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Baltimore, Dallas, New Orleans, Chicago, Pittsburg, San Juan and Tampa. While this improves American-Cuban travel relations, those wishing to visit the island nation must still get approval. The specifics of “purposeful” travel can be found at the U.S. State Department’s website.
