United Kingdom: RMT Plans Strikes in the London Underground
By Larry Habegger and Andrew Davis | Permalink |The Rail, Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) said it will hold four strikes in the London Underground between June 19 and July 1 after the dismissal of Northern Line driver Arwyn Thomas. RMT maintains that Thomas was wrongly dismissed due to his activities during a previous strike. The strikes will last nearly all day and will cause major disruptions in travel throughout London. Travelers planning to visit London between June 19 and July 1 should look for alternative forms of transportation around the city.
