Northern Ireland: Enormous Day of Action Possible Nov. 30

The Northern Ireland Public Service Alliance (NIPSA) is asking members to vote in favor of an industrial day of action to coincide with a similar event planned for Nov. 30 throughout the United Kingdom. This would be the largest union mobilization in over a generation. The proposed strike is a response to pay cuts, pension and job losses. Those who would be staging the strike include civil servants, local government employees, libraries staff, housing executive workers and social services employees, meaning major disruptions to all services throughout Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK.
