By Larry Habegger and Dani Burlison | Permalink | No Comments | November 8th, 2013 | Trackback

Work is set to begin on a tourist protection center in Kozhikode District, Kerala. Kozhikode is a popular tourist destination because of beaches, temples and the Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary, and local authorities want to ensure visitor safety through the new Tourist Protection and Police Assistance Centre (TPPAC). Officials hope the center will reduce petty crimes such as pick-pocketing and harassment. Police personnel will be on site at various tourist attractions once the center is open.
