Ukraine: Number of Protestors Grow in Kiev

Prime Minister Mykola Azarov warned of a coup in Kiev Dec. 2, as he was informed of demonstrators’ plans to seize the parliament building. The protests began Nov. 21 when Ukraine announced plans to back out of talks with the European Union in order to strengthen ties with Russia. The number of demonstrators has grown to hundreds of thousands and protests have remained mostly peaceful despite some reported police aggression.
