Chile: Lollapalooza Comes to Santiago
By Larry Habegger and Andrew Davis | Permalink |Though it has been less than a year since an 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck Chile, the capital city of Santiago has made a broad-reaching recovery. With the addition of modern museums and restaurants, the city has become a vibrant example of economic and cultural improvement and reinvention. In April, the 20-year-old American music festival Lollapalooza will take place in O’Higgins Park, making Santiago the first foreign city to play host to the event. Tourists wishing to experience a city on the rise will find themselves at home in Chile’s capital, especially the weekend of April 2nd, when Lollapalooza begins.
