Sri Lanka: Moving toward War Again?

Tamil Tiger rebels have killed 45 soldiers in recent ambushes, and the U.S. Embassy warned Americans about travel to the north and east, especially the Jaffna Peninsula, and all other areas north of a line from the towns of Puttalam through Anuradhapura to Trincomalee. A pro-rebel Member of Parliament was assassinated Christmas Eve in Batticaloa, underscoring the volatile nature of the violence.
